Thursday, July 3 2014
Gabriel Wong, a PhD student working with Profs. Israel Klich and Diana Vaman, has been selected as a KITP (the Kavli Institute For Theoretical Physics at UCSB) Graduate Fellow for the fall of 2014. Gabriel's "Local Advisor" will be Joe Polchinski, who, among his other achievements, is known for his work on D-branes and black hole "firewalls".
From the KITP web site, "The KITP is the first and foremost scientific research facility where theorists in physics and allied fields congregate, for sustained periods of time, to work together intensely on a broad range of questions arising from investigations at the leading edges of science."
